Biggly Boy
Any treats for me in there?
Whoops – never take your eye off the treat!
Oi, keep your head still mum!
Beanie
Oooh treats – what are we playing now?
Oi – bring that back down here!
A bit wobbly
That’s better
Going up…
A little bit of cheating
Starting to balance the ball herself
Check this out – no one holding the ball!
Gimme five!
Make that ten.
Hi. I found your blog through Laura’s. It is so nice to find a new blog about Beagles!
I am really impressed with what you are doing with Beanie and Biggles! We also do lure coursing and Heelwork to Music. Cinnamon, nearly three years old, used to do agility too, but she had to stop it because it was found that she has hip dysplasia. Your advice to Laura is very helpful! I have been doing something similar with Cinnamon, but I was doing it without thinking about it methodologically like you.
This gym ball exercise is fantastic. I would like to try it with Mint when he gets old enough. (Maybe I should avoid doing it with Cinnamon because of her hips…)
These photographs are very nice, and the exercise is ingenious…
Thank you for your kind words Ana and Cinnamon and Mint’s mum! My husband Paul is a keen amateur photographer which is great for me as I have all these lovely memories of my Beaglets.
Cinnamon and Mint’s mum – you can get special doggy balance balls that are actually quite flat. Obviously you’d want to check with your vet, but I as far as I know this kind of thing would be wonderful for a dog with HD as it would build muscle around the joint without stressing it.

Off now to your blog to see if I can find anything about your HWTM. We’re pretty new to it (and I’m pretty hopeless!)
